In this show I talk about another of my favorite Rumi translators, i.e., Jonathan Star. I share some excerpts from Jonathan's book: Rumi, In the Arms of The Beloved, Translations by Jonathan Star.
Enjoy!
Excerpts from Jonathan's book:
"Reading Rumi's poetry shows us ourselves and our state, but more than that, it shows us the boundless glory of what we can become."
My personal "take" on the above excerpt is:
"Reading Rumi's poetry shows us ourselves and our state, but more than that, it shows us the boundless glory of what we already are.... not a state to be attained ... not even a state at all... just pure being .... waves in the ocean of consciousness."
