Yesterday I found this Rumi gem (poem) when I flipped open "A Garden Beyond Paradise, The Mystical Poetry of Rumi, Translated by Jonathan Star and Shahram Shiva." So here is ... "You Came To See The Sun Rise"

For those unfamiliar with the stories of Jacob and Solomon, here are some useful links: Jacob and his son (see section: Later Traditions, last para, Qur'an 12:96) Solomon and the ring (see section: Solomon and Asmodeus). And of course, most, if not all, are familiar with Moses and Jesus.

Also, Some of the listeners may recognize today's poem in a different translation titled as "Unfold Your Own Myth" which is by Coleman Barks from his book "The Essential Rumi."

Rumi: Within My Own Heart

Rumi's most profound recognition came in his search for the missing Shams. In this search he discovered that he did not have to search at all.... what he was looking for; he already was .. That! Here's his poem expressing that search.

In Celebration of Dear Mausaji

Mausaji

This RumiTime show is in honor and celebration of the life of my dear loving Mausaji (Uncle), who passed earlier this week after living a wonderful and joyous 88 years. He lives on in us and is closer than ever. He will rest in our hearts forever.

Both of Today's Rumi poems  are my own adaptation of the original poems "Your Triumphant Song" and "Gone to the Unseen," which were taken from "Rumi, In the Arms of The Beloved, Translations by Jonathan Star." I took the liberty of modifying these very pertinent Rumi poems to capture the full spirit of my intention and my "voice within."

All Rumi poems have a draw for me ... of course, some more than others. As I said in the last show .... I allow my hands to lead me to the poem of the day so today's random landing is this gem titled "Inner Sunrise" ... As those familiar with Rumi know that .. all of his poetry is the expression of his love with The Divine ... exquisite  ... and offers incredible gems of wisdom so .. here is .... Inner Sunrise.

Rumi: A Mine of Rubies

Looks like my plans re a certain poem are going to continue to be subject to revision. As some of the listeners know, I have yet to read the follow on to the poem "Who Am I?," which was read on Apr 26th ... and that follow on poem will still need to wait some more ... because typically I let either my inner voice lead me to the poem of the day or I let my hands wander and pick one ... invariably I discover a new gem .... so here is "A Mine of Rubies."
